The Lycian Way is Turkey’s first long distance footpath exploring the coastal region between Fethiye and Antalya. Our route covers most of the best walks of the Western section starting in Fethiye and finishing in Kaş. The highlights include ancient ruined cities, spectacular coastal views, Turkish village life, ghost town and diverse landscapes.
Day 1. Transfer
Dalaman-Kayaköy ( Airport transfer if required). Dinner and Introduction

Day 2. Walk Fethiye - Kayakoy (lunch) – Oludeniz (6hrs)
Transport Kayaköy-Fethiye, Oludeniz –Kayakoy
THE WALK starts from Fethiye’s boat marina and ancient theatre ascending past ancient Lycian tombs. The route continues on an old Greek cobbled road through the pines before descending into the fertile Kayaköy valley. After lunch we explore the ghost town and continue to the idyllic blue lagoon at Oludeniz.

Day 3. Walk Ovacik –Kirme –Faralya (5.5hrs)
Transport Kayaköy- Ovacik
THE WALK stays high traversing the slopes of Babadağ (Father Mountain). Spectacular coastal views all the way end with sunset at the over looking the sheer cliffs down to Butterfly valley.

THE WALK provides more amazing views with a chance to swim from the secluded setting of Kabak beach. The walk continues above a dramatic coastline looping back to the picturesque village of Faralya.

Day 5. Walk Kabak- Alınca - Gey (6hrs)
THE WALK ascends to the mountain village of Alınca and continues to the ancient site of Sidyma renowned for its decorative Roman period tombs. Our next village stop is Gey nestled above old stone terraces and the towering cliffs of the ‘Yediburunlar’ Seven capes.

Day 6. WALK Gey – Bel – Belceğiz – Gavurağılı
Transfer to Patara.
Day 7 . Walk Delikkemer- Patara (4.5hrs)
THE WALK starts from the Roman engineered aquaduct feeding the ancient port of Patara. The trail undulates through diverse landscape to a comprehensive tour of the well preserved ruins before ending at the 16km protected beach now a marine turtle conservation zone.
Day 8. Transfer
Transfer to Dalaman

WHAT TO BRING: WALKING
Hiking boots or strong shoes with good tread and ankle support, shorts and t-shirt (warm weather), fleece, waterproofs, day pack (35ltr. + -), walking trousers, long sleeved top, sun protection- hat, sunglasses, sun cream, insect repellant, walking poles recommended,
beach towel, swim kit.
Main Baggage is transferred on to next nights’ accommodation
In April daytime temps reach the low twenties (centigrade), mostly sunny but still chances of rain. In May the temperature rises to late twenties and less chance of rain.
Evenings can still be quite cool in early April.
From mid September through October, mainly sunny day with temps in mid twenties and warm evenings cooling down later in the season.
